Today the name of Jesus has been reduced to show sign of surprises; everywhere you turn you hear Jesus! Oh, Christ! Jesus, you don’t mean it! Oh, Lord! If only you knew how powerful the name is, you would not utter the name for just calling sakes.
What is in the name of Jesus?
Let’s take a look at Philippians 2:9-11 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The name that is above every other name: to paint a clearer picture of how to use the power in the name of Jesus, read the story below;
A young man wanted to see a man who owes him some money, but he was stopped at the man’s gate by bodyguards; the young man struggled, yelled at them, but the bodyguards slapped and threw him out to the street.
The president of the country happens to be driving by and saw the bruised young man. He picked him up, washed him, clothed him and of course gave him a note with the presidential seal.
The young man returned to the man’s house, and the bodyguards wanted to do the same thing, but the young confident man showed them the presidential seal. Quickly, they opened the gate and let him through. The young man walked up to the man and claimed all that belongs to him.
The name of Jesus is the Presidential note; every mountain crumbles at the sound of the name of Jesus. It is an open check given to us by Jesus Christ, but many Christians do not know what they have.
The young man in the above story could have chosen not to return to the man’s place to claim his money. He could have discarded the note or just use it to “fan” himself whenever it gets hot. Many Christians are using the name to “fan” themselves; the name of Jesus can do much more than you can imagine.
It is one of the redemptive rights in Christ Jesus, John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”
No devil can stand the name of Jesus; the name is not just an ending phrase of a prayer, it is wrapping your requests with the power of Jesus Christ. When you say “in Jesus name I pray”, you are reminding God of His gift to humanity, and to the devil of the victory of Jesus Christ.
God honors His words: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11.
The Name answers to as many that believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; John 1:12.
Faith: the name of Jesus works if you believe, and trust in the Name of Jesus. Faith is depending solely on God; it doesn’t matter how big the mountain of life is. Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Calling the name of Jesus Christ without faith is mere exclamation; God will show up when you don’t waver. James 1:6. Therefore, start using the name of Jesus to conquer every wall of Jericho in your family, your relationship, or business.
