Jealousy is cruel as the grave

Jealousy is as Cruel as the Grave, the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Jealousy is one of the poisonous fruits of the flesh; it has a way of eating you up without you knowing. It can lead to impetuous or reckless decisions, the propeller of harm, the destroyer of families, relationships, and an overall destructive state of mind.

Galatians 5:19-21 “19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

One thing about Jealousy is, it brings harm to the jealous person than the other person. It makes you bitter and insatiable with the good things happening around you. God knows the heart of men; He sees the end from the beginning; every “rule” in the scripture is for our benefits and not His.
2 Timothy 3:16 “16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

How to overcome jealousy
Acknowledge the fact that you are the Apple of God’s eyes: as a Christian, you are God’s treasure. Zechariah 2:8 why would you be jealous of someone when you are God’s treasure? They should be jealous of you and not the other way round.

Live a life of thanksgiving: look around you, there are hundred and one reasons why you should be grateful. First of all, not everyone has the opportunity to receive the gift of Salvation. When you cultivate the habit of giving God thanks for giving you a glorious future

Romans 8:30 “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Your salvation is not by chance; He singled you out of the lot. John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” you have a glorious future, you do not have to be jealous of anything. Jeremiah 29:11 “11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit: John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” How refreshing to know there is Teacher ready to guide, direct our steps.

He can give you the fruit of the Spirit, only if you ask. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Fruits of the flesh cannot dwell in you if you have the fruits of the Spirit. Have a continual fellowship with the Holy Spirit; He is sent here because of you and I. when the fruit of the spirit, especially love is found in you, there will be no reason to be jealous of your neighbor at all. You have received the greatest gift- salvation. Nobody can take that away from you.
